Azienda Agricola Bianchi

Family-owned organic farm since 1998

Marcy and Alberto Bianchi founded Azienda Agricola Bianchi, an organic winery in Ticino, Arogno in 1998, with a philosophy of passion and respect for the environment. This is reflected in all their high-quality organic products, specially wine and honey. All raw materials are processed according to Bio-Suisse standards to guarantee the quality requirements for labelled organic products.

Azienda Agricola Bianchi does more than just produce organic wine. The winery is located in Arogno, a quiet Ticino village with picturesque vineyards overlooking as far as Lake Lugano, where there is an harmonious feeling and it's clear the reason why the Bianchi family produces wines according to nature by contemplating the wonderful expanses of the slopes.

The grape varieties produced as far as white wines are concerned are Johanitter and Solaris, so-called PIWI vines, i.e., varieties that are resistant to fungi and make the use of pesticides unnecessary, while red wine and sparkling rosé wine come from new vines from the Cabernet Sauvignon family. Since 2012 the farm also cultivates Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay for winemaking in compliance with organic production rules. In 2017 the winery was built, which will allow all wines to be vinified according to the principle of gravity.

Grappa, nocino, vinegar, olives and more...these are all other products of the company in order to make the most of the work done and the land.

Piaz Assemblaggio Bianco White
White wine in French oak

  • Grape variety
    Chardonnay and Sauvignon

    Vinification
Fermented and aged in second-passage barrels

  • In the glass it has a straw yellow colour with light golden reflections, then on the nose there are olfactory sensations of Golden apples, gooseberries, boulangerie and a slightly smoky touch given by the wood used.

Drinking it, it contrasts an intriguing fresh and savoury note with a warmer part of structure and softness that create an ideal harmony on the palate that prolongs the drinking pleasure.

A wine to be left to mature over time, identified in its typical elegance (like the rest of the estate’s wines).

  • Smoked trout, Mediterranean tuna tartare with coastal citrus fruits

PIAZ Merlot
Barrique red wine

  • Grape variety
    100% Merlot

    Vinification
Fermented and macerated in conical wooden logs for 40 days

    Aging
Aged in barrels for 15 months.

    Awards
93 points at the Decanter Award in London and 2nd place at the Mondial du Merlot, Grand Master category in Zurich

  • A ruby red coloured wine, on the nose an immediate wine that focuses its olfactory notes on the freshness of the fruit and the spiciness.

On the palate it is a fresh wine, balanced between hardness and softness of taste, with tannins present but still elegant with a beautiful fruity expression.

Medium structured and in perfect harmony with the nose.

  • Meat-based first courses, for example, risotto with Ticino lard and herbs or luganighetta.
