Back in 1972, Mary and her family ran a well-established pizzeria in Ascona. Lawyer Enderlin noticed her and suggested that she move to Lugano to relaunch the long-standing Bali restaurant on Piazza Rezzonico in the family's building.

The 'Mary' restaurant was a huge success and, thanks to its inimitable zuppa inglese, its name passed from person to person until it became famous throughout the Swiss Confederation. In 1987 Mrs. Mary gave up the baton but remained in the annals and with the name always present on the square of Lugano. In 2016, thanks to a renovation of the logo and the premises, the new manager starts again from Back to the future: the historical and the modern can coexist in one place when the passion for cooking and the history of a brand are combined with the desire to do well of those who work there. Today, as in the past, Mary's represents the history of Lugano's restaurants, and guests appreciate the delicious meat, fish and vegan specialities, as well as the fast Poké bowls and the tasty pizzas. All this just a stone's throw from Lake Lugano!
