Vinattieri

The art of making great wines

The Vinattieri winery looks beyond, with one goal: to keep up with nature, because the future is in the hands of those who manage it. With 100 hectares of vineyards located in the Mendrisiotto, Lugano and Malcantone areas, Vinattieri wants to be an actor and witness to a tradition that has been perpetuated for more than 40 years: growing grapes to make great wines.

Vinattieri was born thanks to one man and his great passion for the world of wine. Luigi Zanini, in the 1980s, set himself a great goal: to produce important wines in the Ticino wine scene of the time. A connoisseur of the wine trade and its history, Luigi Zanini understood that to make great wines it was necessary to know the raw materials and their souls to perfection, starting right from the cultivation of grapes. To this day, the desire of Vinattieri and its head winemaker and leading personality in the Ticino wine world, Michele Conceprio, is to take a step back, to resume the slow and relaxed rhythms of nature not only to accompany it in its processes of change, but also to understand it more and more thoroughly. Soil, vine and man are a unicum that give each wine an imprint, determining its main organoleptic characteristics. The Vinattieri winery over the years has acquired an important vineyard surface area: 80 percent of the vines are planted on limestone soils in the Mendrisiotto area, the rest are distributed between the Lugano and Malcantone areas.
