Matasci Vini
A history spanning four generations and a great culture of hospitality
A family-run winery that has been in business since 1921. Over a hundred years, the passion for wine passed on from generation to generation has turned into the oenological art of extracting and processing all the genuine value of the splendid hillside vineyards surrounding the Lake Maggiore region.
Experience, dedication and attention to detail are the basic ingredients of Matasci Vini. The main grape variety is Merlot, combined in its various expressive potential to obtain wines that reflect the identity and beauty of the Canton of Ticino. This is a company made up of people with the distinctive trait of having invested in the culture of hospitality with a diversified offer thanks to the customisation of spaces. Located on the ground floor, in a large, light-filled room covering an area of around 400 square metres, the sales outlet displays a wide range of wines of different origins in addition to the house Merlots. The Caveau Ticino wine shop, on the other hand, contains, like a treasure chest, the Canton's excellent wines, with a selection of 300 labels from 70 producers that give a representative image of our 'terroir' with its four wine-growing regions.
WINE-SHOP OPENING HOURS:
Monday-Friday: 9:00-12:00 / 13:30-18:00
Saturday: 9:00-17:00
A diversified offer thanks to the customisation of the spaces: an exclusive Wine Store and Wine Shop dedicated to the territory, the Wine Museum, the Matasci Arte Gallery and the historic Villa Jelmini.
Merlot grapes, vinified in red, rosé and white, make up 90-95% of production. The world-famous 'Selezione d'Ottobre', which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014, has had the credit of opening the doors to Ticino's Merlot beyond the Alps.
